Ok before I start just wanna let you all know I am new to the board and building engines. I was all show now I am into the faster side.
This is what I wanted to ask.
I have found a d16a block for about $100.
I want to build from the bare block up. I have read a few things on http://www.theoldone.com about the supercharger they made for the ZC and D16 series motors and also on the buildup of a d16 motor.

What I want/need to know is if I am going to build the motor to run a small shot of NOS...say 40-60 adjustable.... what should I run in the car?
Like as far as pistons/cam and such?

I looked into some Crane/Crower cams and pistons and they seem fairly decently priced but wasnt sure what to do to the block itself. Also what type of head should iI look into?Anyone have a spec sheet I could look at or can anyone give me some ideas to work with? Thanks in advance for any info. Oh and I'm putting this motor in a 1989 civic sedan COMPLETELY stripped except for a dash and two seats... should be lighter now....stock it weighs almost as much as a CRX from what I've read online anyways. If you're running 40-60 shot of N2O, you'll need stock internals. It's no biggie. When you start going over 100 shot, then you should beef it up. The ZEX cam is supposed to be pretty damned good. I wouldn't bother doing much to the head...you should put a sohc vtec head on (ie. d16z6 head). Also, I think the consensus is that the Endyn supercharger doesn't really exist (or atleast will never be produced)...kind of a weird story...
