what should i do?
another question.....
I was talking to my buddy who has a 95 civic and has rebuilt his engine he says its alot cheeper then swaping or anything else.
is that true, also he also said that it makes the car seem as if it had 0 miles since all the parts are new.
i was thinking should i do this and upgrade some parts or should i swap?
if what he says is true would that mean that the engine would be brand new but on the body it would have the actual milege.
also wat else is there that is some what easy to upgrade under the hood besides an intake and headers and an exhaust?
anything please time is not on my side and money isnt either

My opinion of it...
A rebuilt engine won't have 0 miles on it. There are wear on the bearing, the metal surface. I doubt 0 miles. I mean if you had everything newly made, non remanufactured, I'm sure it might be 0 miles on the engine. But that'll cost lots of money, might as well get a car. Depending on the rebuild you're going to do. I don't know much about rebuild, but just new seals, valves, bearings(maybe). Everything might run like new, but there are still wear.
Depending what engine you have. If you have those older Honda, anything SOHC, I would just swap the engine if you're thinking of upgrading parts of the engine and you are looking for high perfomance. If you still want to stay with the stock engine, I think rebuilding might be good too. Just get everything to almost brand new condition.
As for bolt on mods, intake header exhaust. Thats the most you can do. Maybe those Hondata intake gaskets. A few maintenance and you're good to go.

theres nothing wrong with rebuilding a sohc motor. it will be like new if you replace all the bearings. rings, pistons and gaskets and it will be cheaper than a dohc swap. if you dont have the money for a dohc swap or you want the simplicity of staying sohc i would just rebuild.
