what s the highest a honda tranny will shift at
i ve heard of many people reving there cars to 10k but it seems like most of the stock honda trannys don't like to go over 9k. everytime ive tried to take the car close to 9k or above it grinds or i miss shift. although i admit i am powershiffting never lifting off the gas. is there any remedy for this? i have lots of seat time and have had this occur on numerous occasions. i was just wondering if its my timing or is it a frequent occurance for other s also.

Yes. Let off the gas between shifts.
Actually, I would suspect that the problem lies in the clutch, not the tranny. You will get some grinding if your clutch is not completely disengaged and you try to shift at 9k+, especially with the gas on. Any drag between the clutch and pressure plate would make it that much harder for the synchros to catch up to the gear, and would likely not be synchronized by the time you force it to engage, causing the grind and/or mis-shift.
