Default What are the physical differences between the B16a2 and b18c5 cylinder heads?

how can I tell weather I have a b16a2 or a b18c5. There are no markings on the had because it’s a new casting.

I'm assuming it's a bare/empty head.

Where did you get the new casting from? I only know of one company making remanufactured Honda heads right now.

B16 and C5 heads are identical as far as I know minus the mild head port and the upgraded valvetrain/cams that come with the ITR heads.

You would be correct in all of that. If it's blank with no internals there will be no difference except for the valve bowl work

"Significant" is a subjective adjective. Again, it's only a slight change in bowl work in the valve chambers. (Look up what that means on your own, there)

But for cfm flow comparisons, no. No difference

If this is an aftermarket head casting and not an OE PR3 casting... there is no comparison. The only similarities will be the interchangeable parts like the VTEC assembly or rocker arms... whereas, in the OE B16A and ITR head castings, there is a slight clean up job done on the short turn radius (bowl) just inside the valve seat on the ITR which improves the flow slightly over the B16A.
