Troubleshooting: B16A engine Idle drops over 350rpms after reaching operating temp
so now that I have my coolant issue figured. once it is above ~100 the idle drops. I mean drops. 350-500 ish. before that it sits about 1100. the ECU is set to 900 for idle. (running crome currently) tried to adjust the idle screw (big screw top left of throttle body as you are looking down the TB. opened it so it is loose. no change.
thoughts?

You shouldn't ever have to move the idle screw... it is preset at the factory (this is why there is paint over it). Let's make sure both your IACV and FITV are working properly. Immediately after cold start, place your finger over the IACV opening in the mouth of the throttle body at the 10 o'clock position... does the idle drop or does the engine stall ??? If yes, that is a good sign. If there is no change in idle speed, either the passage to the IACV is blocked or the valve itself is not functioning. Next, cover the hole at the 8 o'clock position. This should also drop the idle slightly during engine warm up... and almost no change once the engine is up to operating temperature.
