What now? Help!!!
I am installing new rod bearings in my b18a and i am going to get a set of ACL rod bearings. So I need to get plastigage to get the size right? I have searched and i can't find a step by step procedure. HELP ME OUT PLEASE!
My block reads:
#1 cylinder B2 Rod number is #3
#2 cylinder B2 Rod number is #3
#3 cylinder B2 Rod number is #3
#4 cylinder B1 Rod number is #3
Do these numbers tell me what size bearings to get or what?

to get the rod bearing sizes (colors) you put the code on the rod with the code on the crank. look in a haynes manual on how to match them up. or go to a dealer with the codes.
The letter/number codes have almost nothing to do with plastigaging.
ACL bearings only come in three different sizes. Standard. 10 over and 25 over.
The ACL standard-sized bearings usually correspond to OEM Honda bearing colors: yellow and green (right smack dab in the middle of the OEM Honda bearing size range).
I think 10 over is .0010" thicker and 25 over is .0025" thicker. Or, is it .010" and .0250"? I think it's the latter. Regardless, you won't have any application for them.
Unless you plan on grinding the crank journals down, you will be getting the standard size package.
Plastigage those. If that still doesn't put you in the range you'd like to be in, then use the OEM Honda bearings.
Search term 'ACL' or PM earl/2k_teg for possibilities on mixing in some "specific-sized" OEM Honda bearing halves with the ACL's.
