What gauge to get?
I installed an Autometer 2 gauge pod a while back. I had put a oil pressure gauge in it at that time, but left the second pod empty. I'm getting sick of having the empty hole staring me in the face every day, but don't really have much of a need for any other gauges. My only present mods are intake and exhaust. I don't plan to do much more than add a header and maybe VAFC at some point, but that might be a while. I have bult up my stereo with a few amps, subs, new head unit, etc.
I am considering adding an A/F gauge. I know that they are not very accurate, but I figured it would be an easy install and would fill the hole in the pod.
Someone else suggested adding a voltmeter since it would let me keep an eye on things, especially with the amps, but I don't know if it's useful. I imagine that the install would be easy, but I don't know.
I also considered getting a vacuum gauge. I thought it might help me keep an eye on how efficently I drive on long trips and it would be cool to have a needle deflecting with the throttle. I don't know if it's epecially useful either, but I imagine all I have to do for the install is wire it up and run a vacuum line from the engine.
Then again, what about a 2 1/16" tach. The 8000 rpm one should do okay, but I don't know how easy of an install they are.
Might I find a temp gague (either coolant or oil) useful??
What kind of gauge would you suggest and why? Thanks
