Default How are litres determined?

I was just wondering what is litres? How do you determine how much litres an engine has. Take the honda engines for example. They have 1.5, 1.6, and so on....
and their all 4 cylinders.
Thanks

displacement = stroke x bore x number of cylinders

displacement is measured in liters, cubic inches, etc.

stroke is the distance the piston moves up and down

bore is the diameter of the piston

number of cylinders is obvious
