Default What ECU to run for the B20vtec???

I have a crvtec setup right now and my topend really lags. I needed to know if the top end is lagging due to the gsr ecu trying to run with a type r head or should i just buy more aggressive cams. I have a b16 ecu that I was going to try out to see if it will run better for the top end. My setup is a b20z block with je 12.5-1 pistons, type r head, b17 cams, ventuli plate, fuel regulator set at 45 psi, walbro fuel pump, b16 intake manifold, b16 tranny w/ act clutch. I need to know why my top end is lagging?????????

on a side note. we tried using my P28 chipped ECU w/SKUNK2 program. all it did was detonate, even with 118 octane gas. weird thing is my GSR with 12.5:1 doesnt detonate with the same program. it pulls nice but i thought the top end would b a bit better. B20 is smooth power.

I'm not an expert by any means, but my guess would be your combination of the GS-R ECU with the b16 intake manifold and the type r head ...
You might want to try matching components as best as possible, but you've got yourself a Frankenstein there buddy... I think your best bet (according to crvtec.com anyway) would be to go with a custom Hondata ECU.

I dont know if youre looking for a standalone but I am going with an aem computer and you may want to look into the same thing. Then you will always have complete adjustability and you wont be stuck with a chipped ecu that doesnt work.

hey my buddy has almost the same setup only with a port & polished B16 head. he's got a mugen chipped ecu(no rev limit, etc..) and a V-AFC and his car runs great. i think you might just need something to tune your air/fuel. then again...i could always be wrong

what size exhaust? 2.25 or 2.5?

(also, ive heard that b17 cams suck - but this could be a vicious rumour...?)

My friends CRVTEC in his EK runs on a P73 ECU and VAFC.... his best run a week ago was 12.8@106.
