What is DTC on the ECU?

Thanks, although it's still not clear for me. I wonder if I'll ever learn these stuff.

When your check engine light (CEL) comes on, your ECU stores a code that says what it thinks is screwed up. Then you short the service connector, & the CEL flashes the code. Or you plug in a code-reader & read the code on its display. Then look up that code in the shop manual for your car.
