Default What does the Venom 400 REALLY do?

First of all - I'm not asking whether I should buy it, so save me the "It's crap, keep your money." type of answers.

What does this thing do for your car? I know there is a two wire hookup to the MAP sensor and TPS. So if it's fooling the computer to think you're at WOT (which is probably hearsay, I read it in another post) wouldn't it make adjustments for fuel and timing. If it made these adjustments and your throttle plate isn't actually open to let in that air to match the supposedly WOT state, wouldn't your engine run extremely rich?

Also, it seems that automatic cars benefit from this box more than manual cars. Why would this be the case? It seems related to the WOT theory because the tranny would downshift like when you punch the gas for passing manuevers. I just don't understand how fooling the computer into thinking your at WOT wouldn't be harmful.

What is the theory behind this box and its benefits?

I think thats the point, to fool the ECU into providing more fuel and less timing to compensate for the added nitrous. A little more sophisticated than bumping the fuel pressure like Zex does. It's also the same idea as the VAFC hack ( or POT-MAP hack) for using DSM injectors with the stock ECU just going in the opposite direction.

Thanks for the reply, but actually the Venom 400 isn't one of their nitrous kits. It's an add-on box that I think they refer to as an 'Performance Control Module' or something marketable like that. Unfortunately it doesn't say what it really does, which I can't see why you would install something in your car and not know what it does.
