What to do with D16 engines
my friend has a shop, and he has leftover D16 series engines. He doesnt want to waste them. Are there any kit cars that can be made with these engines? Or a go-kart?

Put the d16 in a hatch and slap a turbo kit on it and run 14 psi. It'll run really fast for a few months. You'll melt a piston...oh well, swap in another d16.
How much could i get for mine if i were to sell it to a shop?? 96dx complete except wiring harness im keeping mine huuuaaaa!
Cuz 2 peeps want to buy it from me already is 500 bucks good?

they are not so bad if you get longer rods and custom pistons (like endyn rollerwaves) with the wrist pin located up higher for a better rod:stroke ratio (and notch the block for the bigger rods). you can go high compression for NA or low comp. for FI (turbo or supercharged). if you want to spend $, you can have a deck plate welded on for more deck heighth, and with the rod/piston combo i mentioned, you can achieve ~1.75:1 r:s which will allow you to rev like a b16 NA or FI. with the proper manifolding and tuning, it will be as good as (or better than) a b16a- check out Larry's D16A6 (non-VTEC) on http://www.theoldone.com. like i said, no vtec, (sohc,) and in his stock EF he runs 11s NA in street trim (except tires). how many peeps do you know with a NA b16 or b18 that can do that? i know of a guy who runs 13s with a stock d16 and a 75 shot of nos, and another that had a d16 built for turbo, and at 26 lbs. of boost beat a hennessey viper (both hit low 10s, and he didn't blow his engine as he crossed the finish line- he runs 14 lbs. for daily driving). there are more parts available for b-series, so you can sell the d16s and buy a b-series, but if you are willing to work a little, the d-series can be made to run really well for hi-perf.

sell them to a metal shop.......they are pieces of **** anyways
i would love a d16z6 for a crx i am gonna get, i have the greddy turbo on my 6th gen right now and was thinking about doing that. of course i wouls have to make new pipping.
i couldn't DISAGREE with you anymore!!!! d16's are NOT pieces of ****.. everyone's hopped on the b-series bandwagon and has forgotten the potentcy of a well built d-series.. whatever..
unless of course you're joking.. then i take it back..

I have a friend that has a heavily modified turbo d16 and is running in the 10x. Slap on some new pistons and rods hook her up to a turbo and let it rip. Don't underestimate the power of the D16.
