i bought a 97 civic dx hatch with a 95 gsr swap and i wanted to hook up a scan tool to my car and it wouldnt read anything.so im trying to figure out what computer i have so i can hook up a scan tool and since the stock 97motor was obd2 and the motor is obd1 the obd 2 connector is worthless correct? i just want to hook up my scan tool.if there is any way i can tell what computer i have please tell me.thanks

 

look at it! its located under the passenger side kick panel. If the car has an OBD2 to OBD1 adapter harness (which it probably does) then the OBD2 diagnostic connector will no longer work. You are looking the the three letter ecu code on the sticker on the side of the ecu. it should be something like P28 P72 P05 P06
