obd1 engine in obd2 civic diagnosis port help
Hey guys hows it going. I have an obd2a 97 civic with an obd1 b16a swap. The swap was done with the b series obd1 engine harness. I have a stepdown harness to a chipped p28 ecu. The car runs and drives great, and is an absolute blast. There's just one problem. I live in jersey where vehicle inspection is kind of a pain to go through. The bug i have to work out is the diagnosis port where they connect the scanner doesnt work. What so ever. I connect a scanner to it and it doesnt read anything at all. Which turns the inspection process into a borderline impossible task. Ive looked up ways to make it work, but all i could find was that i need to use an obd2 ecu, but even then i have doubts about it working. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The obd2 port will not work without a obd2 ecu.
Mabye you can find a p2t obd2 ecu (96-97 delsol vtec usdm) to satisfy the inspection techs. He'll it might even run better lol.
