Default What is the best block guard to use?

I'm about to have Eagle H-beams and 9:1 Pistons installed for a mild turbo setup in a 94' B18C1. I was just wondering which block guard to use. I don't really have the extra money to get the block sleeved.

Thanks in advance!!!!

block guards won't really do anything for you. price of sleeves are way cheaper than they used to be. save up what you'd spend on that guard, and sleeves are the way to go.

i've never heard of a "bad" block guard. they all do the same thing, hold the sleeves, allow minimal flex but allow enough coolant to flow thru the block.

Agreed, you can get a block shipped both ways and sleeved for less than a grand. Yes it's expensive, but it's nothing compared to what it used to be.

Golden Eagle block guard. A friend of mine just got the Benson block, it seems that if you have the money that is the best way to go. In most peoples cases, sleeves are not necessary. The stock sleeves and a blockguard can hold ALOT of power.

Make sure that if you get a blockguard that you have the cylinders honed cause supposedly it can make the sleeves form into an egg shape and screw up your sleeves/ distort them. This is what I have herd. No one has ever said anything abot it actually happening.

ive heard that nuforms block guards are really well machined and have enough cooling holes. I ran one and didn't have any problems. The stock sleves can handle a **** load of power though, like 300+. I wouldn't worry about it.
