???????????welding your differentials??????????
positives: no more 1 tire fire, meaning both wheels get power. thats the ONLY ADVANTAGE
disadvantages: turning problems, tire wear problems, if you like to go fast and turn, its not a good combonation.
why is it bad? because on a turn, the outside wheel has to travel farther than the inside wheel, if the differental is welded it physically cant so it skips or hops making a chirping sound in turns.
welded difs are for drag racing ONLY IMO.

Yeah, they're only good if you go in a straight line, or possibly on snow or gravel or something like that, in that they always distribute power to both wheels evenly. Otherwise, if you ever want to turn on pavement you'll get many more problems than you solve.

or tractor pulls hehe
There are a few companies out there that make spools which achieve the same thing.
This is the first one I found on google.

same thing a welded diff does, but safer and lighter.

There was a guy whose name escapes me at the moment who won the SCCA nationals in his CRX with a welded diff.
I also think the current issue of Grassroots Motorsports has an article on this, might be worth checking out.

yea its still 99% driver, just because it can be done dosent mean its smart.
laws of physics man, the outside tire MUST travel farther, since it cant, something MUST give. usually its the tire. sometimes its an axle, sometimes its the diff.
