Just yesterday, this problem started. When I'm driving and in lower RPMs (under 3-4kish), my car will go but randomly starts jerking (not too hard but definatly noticable) and the car feels like it lost half of it's power. Also, the idle slightly drops and the car shakes a lot more during idle now. The problem seems to get worse when the car is warmed up. On the freeway I never have problems but everywhere else, I get that problem.

I have no idea what it could be and hate driving the car when there's something wrong. This is on a 94 Integra RS, no mods except an intake (but that's been on there forever).

Any help/ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

 

Also, it seems to happen when I'm accelerating... although it does happen if I'm driving slowly too.

check ignition components. possibly defective somewhere.

 

Had similar symptoms. Jerking most notable while cruising at steady speed of 30mph in 3rd gear. In my case, the O2 sensor output was slow and low.

Also, in neutral with a fully warmed up engine, try to hold a steady rpm of about 2500. Do the rpms vary up and down by 50 to 70 rpm? O2 sensor.

 

Try replacing (as said before) basic ignition components. I had a similar problem and I replaced my spark plug wires. It eliminated the problem and I got an extra 40-60 miles to a tank of gas.

 

Yup - check your plug wires - had the same thing happen a while back.

 

Ahh yeah, that would make sense too. I changed the plugs, distributer cap, rotar, fuel filter (basic tune up), etc. but never did the spark plug wires.

It's really bad when the car has been running for a while. Just yesterday when I was trying to merge onto the freeway I basically had no power. Had the peddle all the way to the floor near redline.. just to get up to speed. =/
