which way does the grooves on the rod caps go?

Default which way does the grooves on the rod caps go?

do the grooves on the rod caps go on the same side or on oppisit sides? i'm using probe rods.

i'm talking about the notches on the rods and bearings. do they go on the same side or on opisit sides?

I believe you're refering to the notch that the ear on the bearing goes into. If so, they are opposite eachother.

They all go to the same side, the side oposing the thrust side.

its been a while since i've been in a motor but i believe they go on opposite sides of each other.

According to the Honda and Toyota Manuals i've read, and the engines i've build, they both go to the same side.

the bearing tangs on the rod and rod cap goes on the same side. make sure each rod cap is on the correct rod!

i can even explain why is like this, since the bearings has one SIDE that supports most of the load after the compression stroke (thrust side) the other side has the mark so you can align the bearings, it doesn't matter because that side won't deal with forces as great as the other side (thrust side).
