Rod and Rod caps
Hey guys i have a question, i bought a set of rods and pistons and the rods dont have the rod caps with them. I was talking to a guy and he said that rods were pretty much use less because the rod caps are made specifically for the rods at the factor and you couldnt just use another set of GSR rod caps. Does this sound right?

Re: Rod and Rod caps (dwilson)
Pretty much, thats why during a rebuild you want to make sure you keep the right rod cap with the rod. The inside diameter may be a little different on each rod and you don't want to mix match. Bearings won't line up, may not be round, etc. If you were to get different rod caps for those then you would need to have them all align honed with the rod and use oversize bearings. Assuming they are stock GSR rods, I'm sure you can find another set pretty cheap.
