how can i quiet my exhaust? its damn loud and i don't have a silencer and they are not made for my muffler. btw its a hayameXT1 with 2.25" custom catback. would putting a resonator in make a good difference in sound? i miss my stock exhaust and i don't have it anymore...how much would it cost to put in a resonator? worth it? noticeable differences? any performance losses....sorry all the questions....need sum advice.

 

If you get a regular glasspack or resonator it should be like 60 bucks (aluminized). It won't hurt your performance as long as it's got a "flat" tubing inside. In other words, the perforations should not protrude into the flow path.

 

Just go to a junkyard and get a stock exhuast again..
sell ur current exhuast..and do some better research when buying ur next exhuast..
easy as 1,. 2,. 3,.

I put a Moroso spiral flow "race muffler" between my cat. and muffler. It made a huge noise difference in my 3" thermal. It's still loud compared to stock, but without the deafening trademark Thermal resonation.

 

A turbo does a pretty good job of quieting the exhaust

besides turbo...i don't have loot like that..i just need to make it quiet again. where can i get it done? will just any muffler shop put on something to quiet it down sum?

 

Buy a 5Zigen Fireball rear section.

 

buy ear plugs...

 

add a resonator... the longer the quieter... you want a straight through perforated core. generally 20" should do the trick.

 

If you want to use the exhaust you have as a base, Dynomax makes some decent exhaust silencers...

or shove steel wool into the muffler

i got a 22in resonator on my car and the damn thing is hella quiet now.....i have 2.25 piping no cat w/ apexi muffler

 

how much did it cost to put in a resonator??
