Warm Engine Idle Problem
I am currently trying to figure out what is going on with my setup...It is a fresh rebuild and am having warm idle issues...
I can start the car, it runs fine. Sit's around 1100 rpm on cold start, drops to 750 when warm. I took the car out runs like a champ...about 10 mins into the drive the idle goes wonky. It will vary 200 rpm at idle 700-900(very lumpy) and doesn't clear up with accelerator, keeps the same oscillation throughout...If I try to drive it hard it will backfire while changing gears, and bog when I'm accelerating...any info will help
Thanx,

Thanx,
ya. it gets warmed up then drops to normal for a few mins then just idles low like 200-250. like its struggling to keep itself alive. i cleaned the IACV and it didnt do anything. are you flashing a code at all?
Ya I made some progress, got rid of the wandering idle for the most part, and got it sitting at 750rpm at idle now. Still a few kinks but this is the link to my other post that helped me sort things out a little:

see mine is doing the same stuff. i cleaned my IACV and even changed it with my other civic and it didnt do a thing. my electronics seem to make it bolt down too. maybe i have that same issue. what exactly did you do to fix that dip in the rpm and did you get that loss of power to go away when you drove it?

Really I think my problem was plug related...when I switched back to the stockc b7 plugs it ran much better, not perfect, just better. Still get a large dip when I stop, but it doesn't sputter anymore. I'm gonna try the Z6 plugs next, see how they work...other than that, I just did what I posted in the linke in my previous post. Hope it helps
