want 13s at the 1/4mi..help needed
i got a 98 ex coupe, d16y8. with a greddy kit, slicks, and some minor tuning can this be done. Or should i wait and save up for a b16a2 and greddy turbo that try from that. i dont have alot of cash and i need to start making my move. also if anyone knows any sites, places, or people who has a usdm b16a2 swap up for sale with a good deal please hit me up
Do you have the Greddy kit yet? Kind of sounds like you don't, and you want to know if the kit, slicks, and tuning will put you in the 13's. It will. You should easily be able to obtain 13's with that setup. Remember though, tuning is key to power though. Don't j00 blow it up!
no i haven't i was going to make the move cuz i want to buy everything at the same time but i have been seeing a couple of b16a2 swaps cheap lately. Right now i am looking at 2 b16a2 swaps and debating whether to wait a bit and buy the swap and wait some more to build it up for 13s or just go ahead with the turbo d16 and hit 13s. i just didn't want to get the greddy kit and all and end up with a dead end or something and waste money

this is a greddy kit i am talking about here. not a t3 or t3/4 or drag kit or nothing like that. I'm not saying they are hella weak but have less power but spool quick

huh. the greddy is just a quick spooling turbo kit thats street legal. the edelbrock kit makes more power but isn't too much street legal
i was at the track last yr and this guy had an edelbrock kit on his 95 dx hacthback, he couldnt even get out of the 15's.. i'm pretty sure he wasn't tuned though since he dumped most of his money on the kit and forgot about the tuning aspect of FI..
aight thanks. If anyone else has any suggestions or comments on my goal, my ears are open. and thanks to all those so far who replied. thank you and good lookin out
your saying you can get a b16 swap for cheap, how cheap? i mean a VERY good deal is sometimes hard to pass up.
But as everyone is saying; i think it would be better to build on that; for a budget build you can even use pr4 rods and vitara pistons and you'll have an engine that can take a nice amount of boost.

i also hear about using the 15g kit and swap the turbo with a 18g turbo. i hear it will fit but what about the greddy emanage from the 15g? will it coporate with the 18g or have any problems since i have switched turbos?
