Vtec Solenoid Filter... Missing? PLEASE Help.
UPDATE: Well, I figured out that I was taking off the top of the assembly, not the whole thing... Filter is there, and is fine, but now I have no clues as to why my CEL is coming on... Any ideas?
I already posted this in EG, but it wasn't getting hits. And yes I DID get moderator permission.
So my car is doing interesting things. If I hit 80 in 4th gear, my CEL goes on, and when I jump it it says a code 22. That's VTEC oil pressure sensor. It's a JDM motor and a USDM ECU, so the sensor is not plugged into anything, yet VTEC still kicks in for first, second, and third gears. I'm pretty sure my re-chipped ECU bypasses it, or the line has already been spliced, so I'm 99 percent sure that the sensor is not the problem.
Last night I got advised to check my VTEC solenoid filter. So I just went out, popped off the three bolts, and looked, and there's no mesh screen... It's just this round thing with a hole in it, and gaskets... There's also a hole beneath it.
I pulled out the round thing, and no screen underneath that either.
So do I need to go get a new "spool valve gasket" as I think they're called, or am I just missing it?
And no it isn't stuck to the part I removed
Also, what orientation sould that round thing be in? It looks like the death star, when the laser is aimed at an angle, but you can still see it. Should the circle be pointed straight up, straight down, does it matter?
Please reply ASAP... I really don't wanna start my car until I at least find out what the orientation should be...
