VTEC solenoid bolt is broken!
I have an oil leak from the cam seal, and while checking it out, I saw that one of the bolts holding the solenoid on was out alittle too far. I checked to see if it was even hand tight, and it came out....yikes. I now have, at most, 2 of the three bolts holding the colenoid on (I havent check the last bolt below the solenoid). What kind of problems can I expect from this untill I can get it fixed tommorow. Is it safe to drive on? How can I get that tiny half of a bolt out?
Pull off the solenoid and see if the bolt is sticking out of the hole, if it is try to take it out with pliers. If its in the hole itll need to be removed, it could be not that bad to shitty, but its fixable. If its been broken this long Im sure nothing will happen. The worst that could or has is that it may leak oil. Drive on it if you want its fine, just get it fixed so it stops leaking.
Good deal, I have to go get it taken out with an easy out, its still threaded in there. Im going to clean it out and replace the gaskets while its off, as well. Come to think of it, I may just have the cam seal redone while im at it....
