Default Vtec Solenoid

I'm about to pick up a b16b complete swap from my bro in law for a good deal. The motor is still in the car and the car is at my bro in laws place. Basically I'm just swapping everything over from that car to my car. My bro in law said that the original guy who owned the car took off the solenoid? Wouldn't the car be leaking oil like crazy if you tried to drive the car? I don't know how the guy who originally had the motor has been driving with out one. Someone inlighten me.

yes it will leak like crazy..

when i first got my civic one three bolts that connect the top of solenoid was broken off and everytime i hit vtec it would shoot oil out of the top where the bolt was located.

i would say get a solenoid on there before turning it over.
