Weird vtec issue
Ok guys my vtec solenoid has been leaking a little bit of oil as they tend to do, I replaced both gaskets and cleaned the solenoid casing with degreaser.
so all that went fine got the gaskets in and everything bolted up I cranked my car and vtec was "locked" in, loping crazy and idleing like **** bc its not supposed to do that. I took it for a test drive and got on it and after a few minutes it unlocked vtec and went back to idling fine, I got on it again to make sure vtec was crossing over after it came unlocked, and it was.
so I think everything is fine but I go out this morning to crank my car for work and again it crunk with vtec locked in. again drove for about 15 minutes and it went back to normal
has anyone ever had a issue like this?
any ideas or theories would be helpful

Given the intermittent nature of the problem, a sticking spool valve is likely. Did you dismantle the solenoid from the valve body housing? Sometimes doing that in itself can cause the spool valve to ****, and to get stuck. Did you remove the spool valve and inspect or clean it?
If this problem did not exist before there is a problem with the re-assembly of the valve.
A worn out valve body bore can cause oil leakage that can in theory cause the VTEC system to leak, and lock the center rocker. This is not likely if the problem occurred as a result of repairing a simple leak.

I have found the issue, upon removing the solenoid for cleaning the spool valve came out of the housing, hit the ground and I didn't see the spring come out. it was dark and cold not ideal conditions therefore I reassembled without the spring which caused my locked vtec issues. thanks for the input
I found the spring last night will re install this weekend.
