Default Is this a VTEC problem?

D16Z6 with bolt ons

-The torque curve after the VTEC (4800RPM) seem to be really low and fading.
-at TDC the crank pulley looks good (maybe 1-2 degrees off at Most)
-VTEC light indicates ECU is giving out 12V
-VTEC Solenoid makes click sound when given 12V
-Power with VTEC pressure harness removed doesn't seem very different with it connected
-Cam was installed a while back

???-How can you tell if all rocker pistons are engaging during VTEC? How does the engine run if 1 or more pairs are not going by VTEC lobe?

do you have a cam gear?? to me it looks like the cam is retarded a little. most aftermarket cams for our engines are regrinds, making a cam gear a necessity. i would advance the cam gear 2 degrees and see what it looks like from there. the reason i feel its a cam timing problem is that the torque peak is happening well before were it comes on in a stock motor. it could be other things as well though. what kind of bolt-ons does it have??? are you using a vtec controller??? what type of plugs and how recent were they changed?? what kind of gas, what is your ignition timing, how many miles, how does it idle, how much vacuum do you show at idel, any vacuum leaks, sufficient fuel flow and delivery, sufficient airflow, etc. etc. a lot of variables, throw out some more info.
