Are you sure it really isnt engaging? How do you know its not engaging? Any CEL codes? Have you checked your oil level? Vehicle and engine would also help.

speedometer work? I would start with the oil level first of all, next check a speed sensor in gearbox, if everything is normal, then should check vtec solenoid filter IMHO.

What RPM does it rev to? I'm sorry but the "sound" of VTEC on a Z6 is almost non existent.

it revs to like 7800, and i didnt know you the "sound" of vtec coulnt be heard on a z6, is it cause its a sc? but when i first got i get it, i could take it to like 4800 and punch it, and it make like "pop" noice and just take off, now its just a stedy climb?

yea...it's hard to tell when vtec is one with a sc, maybe w/an aftermarket intake, but most likely, no.

LOL...dude do not let them F with you. There is no such thing as a vtec "filter" or "oil level". VTEC is **supposed** to be a smooth transition and not very noticeable if your vehicle is within stock OEM parameters. You are fine. You would get a check engine light if your vtec solednoid was malfunctiong.

Technically that is a more of a screen than a filter. Does not clean and trap...jut impedes flow of contaminants. It is RARELY the cause of vtec not engaging because it doesn't "hold" the material in the screen causing solenoid to read lower oil pressures.
