Re-read his post....

YOur going from OBD2B car to an OBD2A engine?? You can do it just fine, you either need to run an OBD2B ecu, or convert to OBD1 and run P28

As far as your wiring, you will need to add the pins for the Vtec Selenoid, vtec oil pressure sensor, and knock sensor, which you will also have to purchase unless its on the engine you are buying.

The plugs are not easy to come by in all cases, you would be best to swap the entire harness over. It is actually a very easy process, since you are replacing the entire engine. I was able to replace mine in about 2 hours, including taking the intake manifold on/off.

YES YES the engine came with the complete engine harness (OBD2a) but my cabin harness is OBD2B nonvtec so i would probably need to wire up the knock sensor, oil puressure sensor and vtec solenoid, right? but how? from the engine bay and extend wires from there?

Yes, you are correct

The only other thing is the IACV. You will have to convert it from 3 wires to two. Basically you are just cutting a wire, and putting a new plug on the end

I don't have a pic, but obd2a/b non v-tec ( D16y7) has a 3-wire IACV, manual or auto tranny

OBD2A/B Manual vtec (d16y8) has a 2 wire IACV

The difference is very minor, but you still need a different connection

i think this is what you are talking about

All 96-01 B-series & 96-00 M/T SOHC Vtec (EX+HX) enginess use a 2 wire IACV.

so guess i don't need to worry about that at all
