VTEC Enagement Problem
I have a NA LS/VTEC
My problem is that VTEC engages then turns off. then it has hesitation in the top half of the power band. IE 5500-9000.
I unhooked my VAFC
I checked the solenoid and the screen
The pressure @ the solenoid
I checked a variety of ECU's
The dist. (the cap, rotor,etc)
The plugs, and wires
Everything works and the pressure is there
Below where ever VTEC is set at it, it pulls strong,
when it's suppose to crossover, (anywhere it's set) it goes in then out.... finally coming on with a big power loss and hesitation Like a stutter around 7500-8500
It ran fine then out of no where this BS happens
Nothing seems to work
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Yep! I had this happen once, I was like WTF is going on. Changed my oil the next day for routine change and voila all better.

I have a 94 Ex with a JDM B18C and I don't get any kick with my VTEC. You can somewhat hear it at 5500, but there is no pull to go with it. I have changed oil, taken the solenoid apart and cleaned screens... do anyone have any other ideas?
If it's 4400 then something is way wrong. I ran 16.2 at just over 85 mph at the track. I could not feel or hear anything close to what I have in other dohc vtec cars. Do you have any ideas about what could be wrong?

i think vtec crosses at 4400rpm, factory set, and the secondary manifold butterflys open at 5700.
I have an apex-i N1 exhaust, and can definatly hear when vtec crossesover, feels like a slight gain in power, but when the secondarys open is where i feel the most pull.

pull the ecu and look to see what # is on it to me 100% sure it is a gsr ecu. a few people have put a ecu in that wasnt vtec enabled and couldnt figure otu why vtec wouldnt open.
