Default VTEC bolt sheared flush with head

So, I'm one of the lucky few who has seemed to accomplish this great task!

I already purchased an extractor kit and I became even more lucky as the extractor snapped inside the bolt.

Does anyone have some tips or insight into my situation?

How much meat is around the top left VTEC solenoid bolt, can I drill it out much bigger and tap it?

Thank you

Hahah it gets better.

I drank two beers and attempted to remove myself from the situation for a while. Went back at it and drilled into some fresh metal, attempted to tap it and the tap broke...China is really ******* me over today.

I'm about to JBweld it on...

you were screwed as soon as you bought the extractor, NEVER use those things, some machinist who was pissed at the world invented them as his revenge. the extractor is almost as hard as a tap, and once a tap breaks you are done. all they do is break and they are nearly impossible to remove, if someone brought me that part with a busted off extractor and tap, I would tell them get a new part

MIG weld a nut to it and unscrew. Weld won't stick to the aluminum.

Well, most of the bolt is out, however, I feel as though I've taken a lot of the metal around the hole with it.

I'm going to hope there is enough meat left to insert a helicoil or timecert.

That really sucks, man. Youre not alone. We've all had days like this.

We have, but it comes down to the right tools for the right job. From the pictures it was a botch job at best. Left-handed drill bits and some heat go a long way. Now me and the mad scientist are going to have to... oh wait, never mind, wrong part.

Does anyone have any experience with aluminum fillers? I've seen several that advertise that they can be tapped etc.

Thank you

I've never seen one that really worked or lasted very long

You need to fill it with tig weld.

That would be awesome. But I don't have access to a TIG and the car isn't running currently.
