Default vtec?

ok, I'm pretty new to cars, just started modding my civic.

This kid was telling me how much vtec sucked because... "when driving a stick, how when the engine is switching timing sets, how the powerband would shift and would be difficult to control"

What's he talking about? lol. does it even make sense?

Hmm... Maybe hes watching too much Fast and the Furious... VTEC is not like pushing a nitrous switch... It dosnt make the car 'hard to control'... It just pulls alot harder... But not uncontrollably harder...

u shouldnt believe everything people tell u...especially on this site...a bunch of people who know as much or less than you and they act like they know it all...VTEC is in no way uncontrollable unless ur really pushin a lot of boost...but on na cars its a breeze.
