Vss problems em1
Ok I just recently trade for an em1 that has a vss problem here are the things I've tried let me know if I've missed something
- new vss
-voltage to the vss at 4.9
-I cut the connector off and used some pins to manually wire it up but still no success
- I pulled the cluster to see what was up but everything looks fine
-#15 fuse under dash
- the whole cluster works except the speedo and odometer so it's either wiring or something by time getting voltage to the blue and white wire, what is the yellow and black what should it read? And how can I test the ground wire?
I've already searched and no one seems to be having this hard of a problem with there sensor any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: Vss problems em1
U sure u got the right vss? Make sure the gear on it matches the original one or maybe he had wrong one in there in the first place. As far as a know most if not all vss will work only thing that's different in the gear on the vss that rides along the speed gear on the diff. That could be why it's not turning at all cause no speedo or odometer to work. I'm not a pro but just a thought from what know lol

Re: Vss problems em1
Black/yellow wire should have 12 volts.
Blue/white is the signal wire to cluster and ecu
Black is ground.
Check for power and ground with a multi meter. To check the blue/white wire use a continuity tester.
The speedo in the cluster might be bad.

Re: Vss problems em1
It is actually more common than you think for the Si clusters to fail. A friend and I both had the speedo part of the cluster fail at around 150,000 miles. The tachometer gets funky too. Honda still sells them brand new and is how we fixed them.
