My EG hatch GSR is acting up lately. It makes noise and vibrate right after I take my foot off the gas pedal while driving. It does exact the samething while I'm on reverse. It also makes noise and vibrate a little at round 3k rpm. I also hear some noise in the clutch/tranny area @ around 3k rpm.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

what kind of rattle tiny / grinding / banging. and how loud

 

kind of like a grindin noise when I reverse and a tappin noise when I'm driven on the highway when I let go of the gas pedal. I thought it was the struts so I bought the tokico blues still here it. when I'm in reverse as soon as I let go of the gas it sounds like a chatter from the rear of the car but as soon as I step back on the clutch I don't here it anymore.

 

Yeah, it's kinda grinding noise. It's not really loud but you can hear and feel the vibrate inside the car. I got some feedbacks from the hybrid board, it might be a bad engine mounts, clutch, or axles.

 

I changed the clutch to a exedy and flywheel. replaced all engine mounts. So it might be the axle huh? I'll go to the shop tommorow to have that checked out. It sounds Like it's right in the trunk though or kinda in the strut area. Can't really look to busy driving.

 

Roydogg have you had a new exhaust put on lately. It could be the hangers have fallen off and the pipe is hiting a heat shield or something under the car. the axles wont create a noise under the rear of the car.

civicnewbie check the engine mounts first. axle noise will be more klunk/grind pronounced on cornering

 

I'm only 20 years late but if anyone has this inside the trunk on the top of the trunk I had t bars crossed like an x they must have came loose or something and bang against each other making a loud metal hanging on metal sound almost like the end of warriors and was hard to pin point sounded like under the trunk or behind me or under the car it was when slowing down or accelerating or idling not so much when moving fast. I weged a t shirt in-between them
