Vetec not activating
Thinking of buying a 93 eg w/ a LS/Vetec swap, LS block from a 94 integra gsr and head from a 2000 Si. Only problem with it is the vetec is not activating. Was told he doesn't know why but it may need a knock sensor? hatch still pulls hard but just imagine the vetec activating. All so needs oxygen sensor. Need advice thanks.
Check what ECU is the car using, if she's running on a p28 there's no need for the knock sensor since that ECU doesn't use knock sensor. Check the vtec wiring, is it activating through a RPM Activated Switch, or a toggle switch? Or is it wired up to the ECU OEM style? My advice, borrow a chiped P28 from a friend and go plug it in on the hatch, check if the vtec works!

check oil level, if it is low, VTEC will not work. if it was a knock sensor causing the problem, you would be getting a check engine light. if you are not getting a CEL, then make sure the bulb is there. easiest way is to turn the key to accessory position and the light should light up under all circumstances. if it doesn't, the bulb is either bad or taken out.
