Default Very quick camshaft question

On B-series, the intake cam is slotted for the distributer. I know it is possible to have the distributer flipped 180 degrees. But what happens if you didn't know and started the car? Would the car start at all?

Thanks in advanced

The slot is off set so the dist will only go in one way, If you could get it in 180 out the engine would not start and no damage would be caused.

If ya look really close you will notice that the slot is off to one side just a bit, this makes it impossible to install 180 out, as the dizzy wouldnt bolt up solid.
