Default vehicle speed sensor is not working properly....

My vehicle speed sensor is not working properly 97 sedan with b16a2 swap. The speed fluctuates (spelling?) alot, sometimes it does not function at all. I get a cel too.
Does a faulty vss affect anything else than my speedometer? Should I replace it asap?

What should I check first?

it would affect your VTEC. ie it would not work.

does you ECU throw any codes - is it a Code 17?

if so, you should replace teh VSS to get VTEC back on

t..

Yea if you got a code for ur VSS then barrow a friend's or something and see if it works fine before you go buy one... If it's still bad after there maybe some problem in your wiring.. Good Luck
