Valve seal removal tool: PLIERS (spelling)
Valve seal installing tool: 10 mm socket
Place to get valve seals: ACURA dealer! They're around $1/piece!

Or as a remover you can use sparkplug wire pliers. Worked great for me.

Damn, I payed like 3.62 each for intake and exhaust with my discount. Acura OEM parts though.

get the fel-pro valve stem seals, about 25$ for a set of 16. I used a 4" long pair of vice grips (the smallest they make) and grab the old seal. Grab the old seal and wiggle it and pull it it will come off no problem. I did this exact thing and my oil consumption went from 1 qt every 800 miles to ZERO oil consumption in 3,000!!!

PS, fel-pro are viton and all 16 are the same, they fit int or ex valve.

Kinda pricey. I would just use some type of pliers since your not gonna reuse them again.

Where did you get your valve seals from? Wasn't it a problem having the intake and exhaust seals the same? Or is that only if you buy honda valve seals?

The intake and exhaust valve seals are different sizes. The valve stems are different diameters.

I bought mine direct from Acura. OEM parts, no FUJI, or Yakamoto, whatever those other brands are.

another question.... does the head need to be taken off to replace them? I would think so ... but I never did it, so that's why I'm asking.

the intake and exhaust valve seals from acura are different part numbers because the exhaust seals are viton while the intake seals are regular rubber. Viton resists heat better. Fel-pro are viton on all 16. The stem diameters are the same size and the valve seals are also identical. I just changed mine about 2 months ago.
They just push on over the top of the valve guide. Grab them with the tiny vice grips and wiggle them and pull straight up. they will come off after a couple minutes. Take a 7/16"? (what ever size fits over the outside diameter of them,on the metal not the rubber part) deep well socket and tap them over the valve guide till they bottom out.
I changed them with the head on the car. Take a 3 foot piece of 3/8" nylon rope and shove it into the cylinder with the piston about 1/2 way down the bore. take a long flat bladed screwdriver and shove and pack that rope into the cylinder (through the spark plug hole) as tight as you can get it. then turn the crank with a breaker bar until that rope is packed tight against the valves with the piston. Try pressing on the end of the valve stem and if it does not move then you can take the spring off without the valve falling down inside the head. I used a 5/8" or so deepwell socket on the spring retainer to "pop" the keepers loose. Put a 3" extension over the socket and pop it sharply once with a hammer. Then CAREFULLY pull the extension out of the socket and insert a magnetic pick-up into the end of the socket to retrieve the keepers. remove the spring and retainer. then remove the valve seal. place the spring and retainer back on the valve and use a spring compressor to collapse the spring and reinstall the keepers. I used a crescent wrench opened up almost to the edge of the retainer pushed down to compress the spring. then use your thumb and forefinger to "squeeze" the keepers into the groove and release pressure on the spring slowly. It worked for me and it took about 3 hours to do all the seals. use rags to plug all the drauinback holes in the head and also plug the spark plug holes so the keepers dont fall into the engine!! You dont want to lose a keeper!!
