Valve Question
i just put a big turbo on my carn need to rev to about 9500... im not sure how many miles are on the head i no under 70,000 I was gunna do the springs and retainers just to rev to 9500 do u think this is a wise idea or no??? cuz id hate to break a valve... let me no ur thoughts Thanks!!!
y do u want to rev to 9500rpm? ur not going to make any kind of power up there unless ur motor is build or u got some PnP done to your head..plus u got a turbo u dont need to rev that high to make power
if you have a big turbo you need the higher engine speed to take full advantage of the power capabilities from the turbo. it would be wise to upgrade your valve springs, valves and connecting rods if you haven't already done so.
big turbo+9500 rpm= you need ALOT more than just springs and retainers. Springs and retainers are needed for the rpm your looking for but I hope you have preped the block.
well u tell me if block is prepped Unuff B16A 8.5.1 Srp pistons Eagle H beam rods,Micropolished crank,Big rod bolts New bearings throughout N darton Sleeved... have a t3/t67 turbo Dual bb wont make full boost till 6 grand neew to rev to atleast 9500 to take adjantage of the turbo n the car will make power to 9500 Without a prob on that turbo.... soo whats ur thoughts think think just springs n retainers will be good ??

street and strip.... pnp doesent need to be done.... the only question i asked was does any one think its a wise idea to do it that way with not noing the exact mileage on my head but deff beaing under 70K???
If your worried about the mileage/condition of the head I would send it to a machine shop and have it checked for cracks and pressure tested. But for sure do the dual springs and retainers.
