Icon2 Valve Cover Install

Hello All,

I just ordered a new valve cover for my 01 GSR (for asthetic purposes) and when it came in, it came with a piece of paper saying I *should* clean the underside before mounting it on my car as it may damage my car.

Can anybody shed some insight as to how I should go about cleaning this properly?

Thanks.

I would think any solvent that dries clean would be ok. Carb cleaner and a paper towel could work.

Use purple power. It works very well. I find solvents can hurt the paint if your not careful where you are spraying.

Brakekleen non chlorinated can like pictured below is less corrosive. Also you are basically removing any machining oils from the factory production. If you have alcohol prep pads they work well for the gasket channel as well.
