What happens when valve clearance is too tight? The reason I ask is because tonight, while checking my valve clearance, I found 2 exhaust valves where the clearance was too tight. So tight that the feeler gauge was not going through at all, not even the previous smaller one. Any info on this subject will be appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!

No one has any info on this subject? Come on, this is one of the best, if not the best Honda site. I know someone has to know something!
If the valve clearance is too tight, the valve will not close completely and you will get crap compression figures.
I have seen cases where compression results improve after a proper valve lash adjustment.
As stated in the previous post, incorrect lash adjustment can cause premature wear of your cam lobes and followers.

To the ones that replied to the post, thanks! One more question, what about when the clearance is too big?
With the clearances too big, the valve will not be able to open fully and you will get "chatter" (usually heard at idle as a loud ticking noise) between the lobes and followers which again will cause premature wear.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll be spending some quality time tomorrow with my valve train (making sure they are not too tight nor too loose). Thanks again!
