Valve adjustment question.
The socket won't work because you need to hold the screw (which is in the middle of the nut) still while tightening down the nut
It is easiest to get the Snap on tool......it will pay for itself after two adjustments!!

you can use a regular open ended wrench and a regular flathead screwdriver and save yourself $60. that tool doesn't make it THAT MUCH easier, cause you can still turn the screwdriver a little bit while you're tightening the locknut.

Hey, I did it so can you.
You CAN use a 10mm DEEP SOCKET, holding it with VICEGRIPS,
placing your flathead screwdriver thru the center of the socket to adjust the valves on a GSR or ITR motor.
On a LS motor just use a 12mm DEEP SOCKET.
The socket is tough to hold tight sometimes, because the work area will be oily and th evice grips are not able to grip 90 degrees to the deep socket... so it helps if you flatten out two sides (opposing sides) of the socket to help the torque you can hold. Hope That Helps..aka HTH
