VAFC Question?
I just got thru building my engine also installed my new VAFC. I'm unfamilar with it and don't plan on hardly touching(until its dyno tuned) it except for stuff i have to do to it before i crank the motor. My question is will the vtec cross over that the ecu is using now be cancelled out until i set it to what i need it on or will it remain the factory ecu cross over point until i set it?
I believe the "stock" VTEC engagement point on the VAFC is 5800. So once you go to crank your motor over, it will activate at 5800. You can set it to whatever you want before you crank the motor or after. It should be set automatically.
Any follow-ups on the last post? Is he correct about the vafc automatically sets vtec at 5800? I've searched a little more about this and some say if i leave settings for vtec at 0 then it will use the stock vtec engagement...

This is for the first generation vafc right? I am pretty sure it sets it at stock 5800. I dont think there is a "0" vtec setting. It basically looks liek this....
lo>hi = 5800
hi>lo = 5600
Basically the lo>hi means when you engage in vtec, and the hi>lo is when you drop out of vtec.
