using vacuum pressure guage to set timing?

using vacuum pressure guage to set timing?

is it better or more accurate than digital timing gun
from what i understand, you hook it up to a vacuum nipple on the intake, then adjust timing to where you have the most vacuum, correct
btw, this would be for n/a motor
