using a brake parts cleaner
hi,
my brakes are making a horrible noise (not the screeching from the warning indicator thingy)... i have a can of brakleen cleaner... and it says to spray it all over the brakes except the rubber parts. am i spraying on the brake pads and the rotors?
this is what i interpret from the instructions, but I want to make sure that im not going to mess things up by spraying it on the pads or the rotor.
if i take out my pads, is it safe to clean the contact area with this product and then put them back in? or should i even bother doing that?

That would probably be grease for the caliper slide pins & the places where the pad backing plates rub against the caliper.
