Which oil and water pumps will compatible with an B18A/B block? I'm trying to find out if I can use any of the B16 oil pumps I have lying around.

Yup it will bolt straight onto it... VTEC water pumps and oilpumps are both interchangeable on non VTEC blocks... Thank god... haha

 

yea use any waterpump

 

i wouldnt use just any pump...definetly use a VTEC water pump with the matching timing belt and a VTEC oil pump as well, the stock LS pumps are not reliable once you throw a VTEC head in the mix...HTH

Now I'm finding that only a GSR oil pump will work, are we in aggreance?

 

thats what my bro had to use for his ls-vtec setup

 

GSR/ITR/B20 all have the same flow rate. (use one of these)
LS has the lowest flow rate. (dont use this one)

So and ls/vtec setup with a ls water pump will make more horses or flow more water?

 

A ls pump takes less hp to spin. but it flows less. I have had one for over a year now with no overheating problems. Ran ac going uphill in 100 degree plus heat too.

 

So Trever an LS water pump and belt will work fine with an Ls/vtec? No overheating problems or other related problems?
