Default Type R block or gsr

Hi I just bought a jdm type R and unsure if its really a type R block or GSR
My head has PR3 stamp on it the block has B18C stamp on the front
But on the rear it has a P72 stamp please help I wanna make sure I didn't get ripped off before I install it to my 99Ek coupe

the blocks are the same. doesnt matter.

what should matter are the internals. take it apart if you really wanna know.

pr3 is b16a casting which is what type r uses.

and JDM type R's had B18C in them. not B18C5

typer has p72 block and p72 oil pan
it will have single runner intake manifold and pr3 stamp instead of p72 head

So if you get a get a gsr engine, swap on a type r head and replace the internals it would be the same as a type r?

That would be correct...

Only difference with the type r heads over other pr3 b16 heads is a minor port and polish (which they say...but is really more like a clean-up) dual valvesprings on exhaust side, cams, and intake manifold.

gsr & type r block is same p72 casting. The pistons, rods, and crank differ from one another
