It's normal for some blowby gasses to exit the breather on the cylinder head. HOWEVER. If you're getting excessive amounts it's an indicator the rings are shot. When the rings go, combustion pressure ends up in the crankcase and goes out the PCV system.

However, before jumping to any conclusions you should dig around the 'net for pics of PCV catchcan systems. It is very important to have your PCV system not only hooked up, but upgraded when running a turbo. Since you already spent $4100 on the turbo, another $300 on a PCV catch tank and getting some bungs TIG welded to your valve cover should be a drop in the bucket right?

As for smoke out the exhaust, the turbo's center section should have the oil feed pointed to 12 o'clock and oil drain pointed to 6 o'clock. Not 1 and 7 o'clock. They NEED to be straight up and down, otherwise oil is more likely to seep through the seal in the center section and end up in the turbo. This will cause excessive exhaust smoke. Also the oil return line should be large and smooth. No kinks allowed. No small or reduced-neck fittings. At least 1/2" ID hose, and even that I would consider to be cutting it close.

If you're concerned about the rings being smoked, do (or get done) a compression check.
