Default turbo question

I have a 96 civic hatch. It will not start but when I crank it my boost gauge jumps and sounds like it's spitting air out.
Do you think I have a vacuum leak?

Do you know how to check for boost leak? Vacuum leaks are not usually causes for a no start problem. Go through regular steps to diagnose. You need compression, fuel, spark, air.

Not to sure about boost leaks. It has spark and compression is good. When I tried starting it to sounded like a little splash of air and the boost gauge jumped.

Is it getting fuel then? if it was getting everything (Fuel, Air, Ignition) it would at least attempt to start.
