Tuning BEDMAS (order of operations)
Hey Guys,
I think Im about ready to tune the car. I have a dyno shop with the A/F sensor, I have the VAFC, and the Adj. Cam Gears. What is the best order to tune the car?
1. VTEC crossover
2. Cams
3. A/F (VAFC)
is this the correct order? any clarifications?
thanks,
YV

1) Set the VTEC x-over to about 3k rpm
2) Tune the high cam for power:
.2a) Tune fuel
.2b) Set cam timing
.2c) Tune ignition timing
3) Set the VTEC x-over to about 8k rpm
4) Tune the low cam for power:
.4a) Tune fuel
.4b) Tune ignition timing
5) Print out both dynographs - low and high - and look at where they cross over; move the VTEC crossover to that area.
That's how I'd do it. But I'm not a tuner; I'm just learning.
